Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat oven to 375°F.

Step 2

Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.

Step 3

In large bowl, combine flour, sugar and margarine; beat on low speed until well blended.

Step 4

Beat in 1 egg and 1/4 tsp almond extract to form crumbs.

Step 5

Press crumb mixture in bottom and 1 1/2 inches up sides of ungreased 9-inch spring form pan.

Step 6

Sprinkle with raisins and almonds.

Step 7

Arrange apple slices over raisins and almonds in desired pattern.

Step 8

In medium bowl, dissolve cornstarch in milk.

Step 9

Add lemon juice, vanilla, 1/4 tsp almond extract, yogurt and 1 beaten egg; blend well.

Step 10

Pour over apples.

Step 11

Bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until apples are tender.

Step 12

Cool 30 minutes, remove sides of pan.

Step 13

Brush preserves over apples.

Step 14

Refrigerate any remaining tart.

Very good and oh so pretty! We skipped the preserves and the almonds but otherwise made as directed and served with vanilla ice cream. Delicious!
