"A quick, comforting meal for lunch or dinner. From my childhood, but I still make it all the time. It's funny, I'd never known anyone else's family who made these, but a few years ago, I saw the recipe on a Vancouver website. Evidently, this sandwich originated in Canada back in the day."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat broiler in oven. Heat beans in microwave if they came right out of fridge.

Step 2

Put parchment paper on small baking sheet for easy cleanup.

Step 3

Place bread on parchment, spread with beans and top with cheese.

Step 4

Broil in oven until cheese is melted. Watch carefully so it doesn't burn. Should take about 3 minutes.
