"I love to make these for a party or game night. They are full of flavor; and, always a big hit. I actually prep everything ahead of time; so, all you have to do, is cook the burgers/sliders. And, being small... they are vert quick cooking - perfect when you have guests over. Now, I like to use Kings Hawaiian rolls; they are a sweeter roll, which works well with the Asian flavors. But, any egg or sweeter type of small roll, will work with this recipe. I like to serve it with sweet potato fries or chips. Depending on the rolls you use (the size), you should get between 8-12 sliders. Prep time does not include time for the burgers to rest in the refrigerator to firm up."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Sliders/Burgers ... Add everything, except the turkey to a large bowl; and, mix until combined. Then, add the turkey, and mix by hand - just until it is all incorporated. Make your patties; and, add to a sheet pan, lined with parchment paper or foil, and well covered with plastic wrap. Refrigerate over night or all day - this will allow them to 'mary,' develop flavor; also, firm up. The more it rests, the better it tastes.

Step 2

NOTE: Kings Hawaiian rolls/buns are a slight square shape; so, I make my burgers slightly square. And, always make your patties about 3/4-1" bigger than the bun/roll - they do shrink up a bit.

Step 3

Slaw ... Add all the ingredients to a small bowl, and mix to combine. I like to lightly dress my slaw; so, I tend to use the ' lesser' amounts. However, it you want it a bit 'more creamy,' add more. It is a personal preference. Season lightly with pepper, cover with plastic wrap; and, refrigerate until you cook the patties. Best if it is made a bit in advance; a couple of hours before serving if possible.

Step 4

Onions ... I like to make these ahead too. Simply brush or spray the top of each slice with a little olive oil. Then, roast in a 450 degree oven on a sheet pan lined with foil - keep the slices in tact. They only take 5-7 minutes if that; then, transfer to a plate to cool. Cover with plastic wrap; and, store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Again, I make these ahead as well.

Step 5

Sliders/Burgers ... Turkey meat is very soft; so, make sure to cook these on an inside grill or saute pan, or cast iron pan, which I prefer. An outdoor grill is not the best option. Take the onions and burgers out of the refrigerator to rest on the counter (to warm up). Although, I still prefer to cook the turkey sliders/burgers, when they are still a bit chilled - they are just easier to cook. Note: if you prefer your onions warm/hot, simply microwave for just a few seconds; honestly, I like them slightly chilled or room temperature.

Step 6

Saute on each side for 3-5 minutes in a lightly oiled grill or saute pan, on medium high heat. You want turkey cooked all the way through. And, when you put the patties down ... do NOT move them around - cook them until you get a good char or sear - then, flip. The last minute, add half of the cheese slice to each burger (the other half will go on the bottom roll), and remove from the heat and cover to let the cheese melt.

Step 7

Finish and Serve ... The bun can be toasted or not; I don't. Add the other half of the cheese slice to the bottom roll, then the burger, onion slice, slaw; and, the top bun. The burger will melt the cheese on the bottom bun. Done!

Step 8

ENJOY! ... They make great appetizers or 'snack food;' perfect for a game/party/or movie night!
