"Apple, maple syrup (real maple syrup) and soy sauce makes a really tasty blend for salmon. Add some garlic and onion and it is delish. The recipe was originally from Taste of home by Kathy Schrecengost There are some modifications by me. Prep time does not include the 2- 3 hour marinating time. Your bake time depends on the thickness of your fillet but do not over bake. I recommend that you serve with tartar sauce"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Whisk together the apple juice, maple syrup, onion, soy and garlic cloves

Step 2

Place salmon in a zip lock bag, pour in half of the marinade. (Save half for basting while cooking)

Step 3

Place in fridge for 2 - 3 hours

Step 4

Drain the salmon, discard the marinade

Step 5

Place salmon on a lightly greased oven proof tray

Step 6

Baste with saved marinade

Step 7

Place in preheated 375 oven

Step 8

Baste again after 5 minutes

Step 9

Give a final baste before serving.

Step 10

The fish is ready when it flakes easily when touched with a fork Total oven time 12-15 minutes

Very good fish - didn't marinate the fish as long as it was suggested (actually only about one hour) but otherwise made as directed. I did need to cook it a bit longer than suggested but my salmon was very thick in places. Thanks for sharing!
