Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cut bread loaf horizontally in half.

Step 2

Mix oil, vinegar, sugar, oregano and red pepper. Drizzle evenly over cut side of bottom and top halves of bread.

Step 3

Layer lettuce, cheese, ham, salami, tomatoes and peppers on bottom half. Top with top half.

Step 4

Secure loaf with toothpicks or small skewers. Wrap securely and refrigerate up to 6 hours. Cut into 6 pieces.

Note: You can substitute a 9-inch unsliced round loaf of Italian or sourdough bread. Cut the bread horizontally in half, and hollow out the inside of the loaf, leaving a 1-inch wall
