Softening butter quickly

Post by lovinretirement » Sat Oct 22, 2016 12:55 pm

I don't know if this really works, because I haven't tried it yet. But it sounds like it would. Get a stick of butter out of the refrigerator and stand it on end in a bowl. Take a tall glass drinking glass (microwave safe), fill it with water. Then place in microwave for 1 or 2 minutes, till the water is very hot. Remove from microwave with a pot holder and empty the water out in the sink and place the glass over the stick of butter and leave for 10-15 minutes. The heat from the inside of the glass is supposed to soften the butter to room temperature, for use in your recipe.
