Sous Vide Cooker

Post by Heather in Ont » Sun May 29, 2016 2:23 pm

Does anyone have one of these devices and recommend some recipes? I got one for Mothers Day from my kids (bless their hearts) and now I'm trying to learn to cook with it. I found a couple of recipes on YouTube but my biggest challenge is to know how long something needs to cook at the temp you set it for. It definitely takes some planning. I must say I cooked some steaks with it and you could cut them with a butter knife. Best steak I have ever had from any restaurant.
If your not sure what a Sous Vide cooker is check it online. Chefs in restaurants use them.

Try the Food Lab cookbook by J. Kenji Lopez-Alt. He also has a boatload of info for sous vide on Serious Eats. Also, the Anova culinary app is helpful.
