Crab Apple and Cucumber Salad

OK, I realize not many people will take the time to cut up these tiny apples, but I just love them! I adore tart, sour things. I picked a bunch of these from my moms tree and decided, I needed to try to make something with them, plus I have a load of cucumbers to use up, so I came up with this. I don't know if I will post the recipe, because I don't know how many people adore sour as I do. This recipe though is sweet and sour. Plus you get the added bonus with the sour of the apples and sauce being sweet yet sour, the cooling of the cucumber. So simple but we enjoyed it. Plus as I was slicing up those little apples, I kept singing that grammar rock song, Mother Necessity, out of need to use up these items in my fridge! "Mother Necessity with her good intentions, where would this country be without her inventions!" Sing along! :lol:

#2 is so pretty; and, I am actually a fan of them as well. We had a tree up in MI. I think I would love your salad. I'm definitely a sweet and sour fan too. Very nice Dis!

Lovely photos Dissie. The apples are so red with the cool cukes. I would sure try that if I could get some crab apples.

You should post the recipe Dissie, I LOVE crabapples!! That makes for a pretty looking salad.

The second photo is great! I have several million crabapples, and every year I stare at the tree and wonder if there is something I could actually do with them other than watching my head when I'm in the back yard. :lol: Please do post the recipe, as we've also got cucumbers coming out of our ears! :D

Oh I just remembered how much I love pickled crab apples. They look so festive on the holiday table.
