Apple Sauce
WhenI picked up my garlic they gave me a bunch of ground fall apples so I just chopped them up and cooked them plain so I can use them in a hundred different ways. I popped about a cup each in a zip lock, squeezed out the air and into the freezer.
Very poor photo but had to share part of my productive day with you

Re: Apple Sauce
Something I have never frozen before; I will have to do that. Usually in september our farmers market has someone from up north come down and sells his apples. I would love to do that. I love fresh applesauce but, don't make it often.
Great tip.

Re: Apple Sauce
There is something very satisfying about knowing that the freezer and pantry are stocked with good things that you put there yourself. My mother would just stand and grin looking at the long shelves of canned goods in the garage. I do the same thing - though my larder is spread over freezer and canned goods. And not near so large - supplies are better now.
Good Job, Bergy!

Good question Dissie - No I just boiled the cut up apples with a bit of water - I have done this before and had no problem now we'll see this time. I have found that quick freezing they haven't gone brown. I'll let you know what happens this time

Bergy,
That's really some nice looking applesauce.
I can see that being used in an applesauce cake
or some bread.
