Grilled Lamb Pita Burger & Crimini Mushrooms

Post by Bergy » Sun Aug 17, 2014 11:45 am

This was a lovely combination - AcadiaToo's mushrooms are wonderful and so easy. I used regular white mushrooms.
The new recipe that I posted is a winner. You could make it with beef or pork or chicken. Just change the spices around. The pita comes out lovely & crunchy. I loved it

Looks and sounds tasty Bergy!!

Funny, I am having lamb tonight also, we sure seem to enjoy the same kinds of stuff. I'm alone for dinner so I looked at this as an opportunity to have something I like and Wayne won't eat, lol. I put together a new Lamb Shank with taters in a packet recipe. Let's hope it turns out tasty :geek:

I never eaten a lot of lamb - but I have had ground lamb in a few Greek dishes and in shepherds pie.

I recently picked up a pack of ground lamb in the meat clearance bin and now I know what to do with it. So the lamb really cooks through when put into the Pita raw .... I keep imaging that I will have a gloppy mess. ( That would be me ... not the recipe )

next time I am on my own for the weekend definitely giving it a try.

Thanks Karen. I was wondering too how it would cook and it does perfectly without the Pita burning - I think you have to watch how much lamb you put in. 2 1/2 pounds for 8 pitas is about 4 1/2 ounces per pita The pitas I used were 8". Lean is important too. I hope you try them and you like them
