When I was a kid for our birthday dinner we were allowed to choose anything we wanted - my favorite was, no not hamburgers they were to come later in my life, they were baked beans and weiners - Mom loved my birthday meal!

Bergy... My gram made beans and hot dogs with brown bread every Saturday night for years... You and she would have gotten along well

Your beans look scrumptious. You know, I've never seen a big old hunk of onion floating around in baked beans, but I love it. Gives it a real hearty look that I like.

It adds so much to the flavor of the beans... Not to mention how good the onions are after they are cooked. When I was young we used to fight over who was going to get the onion lol
