Red sauce stains on rubbermaid

Post by Puppitypup » Thu Oct 16, 2014 2:51 am

Is there anyway to get these out? I heated up spaghetti sauce in a nice Rubbermaid storage container today. I don't normally do that, but I was in a hurry. Now the red sauce looks like it's cooked in. I've scrubbed it, but it still looks awful.

Thank you!

this may work Julie, sprinkle some Ajax or other cleanser over the spot and allow it to sit for about 20 minutes then rinse it, that sauce is hell to get out of rubber and certain floors, you really need to remove it right away after it spills, anyway try it and see if that works..
If you can eat, you can make it!

I'd go with a thick paste of baking soda and a little water, smear it on and let it sit for a good while. Then wash in the dishwasher afterwards and let the dishwasher stop a few times to lengthen the time it takes and let it "soak" so to speak.

Oh and turmeric and curry sauce/pastes are even worse than tomatoes.
I did a fresh curry paste in my blender one time and the plastic went yellow. I was really torqued about that. Don't recall if I ever got it out before I had to replace the blender (it eventually had the motor go out on me)

Let it sit in the sun.

I know this is too late, but I always spray my tupperware with pam before adding any tomato based food to them. Learned the hard way.

Great idea dissie, I will do that next time. And thanks for the sun tip Le. I've got pickles in it right now, but once it's empty again I will do that.
