Tried a differnt recipe for 13 bean soup at food.com beans as hard as bullets - back to the recipe on the package it is good and works every time so I guess not need to change.

Tonight is "eat whatever you find in the kitchen that you make yourself" night. I am completely exhausted after loading in for our symphony/chorale production of Lord of the Rings (we show the movie on a 45 x 30 foot video screen over the symphony, which plays the score, and the choir joins in as appropriate).

Happy Valentine's Day

Hydro/cable/Internet are finally fixed in full. It is a soup week here with potato, vegetable & lobster bisque (on sale). We have had about 8' of snow so soup sounded good. Steaks also on sale & saving them for the weekend.

Morning Nin!

How are your ribs feeling? They take a long time to heal; I hope you are on the mend. Hooray on everything getting fixed. We had a transformer hit last night. Third time in 3 months. We had no cable, internet and electricity for 10 hours since late last night. I have a mini generator, so I was able to watch a couple of DVD's on the computer and I also have my small TV, which didn't get all but a few stations, but it was better than nothing. Back up and working this morning.

No snow, but a few very chilly days. Back to 75ish today with sun. Waking up to 30 was plain COLD! 8" is enough to make driving bad; yes, it is good week to stay in and have soup.

Soup and sandwich for the Sandwich Event.
Soup Dumplings I have a nice vegetable based home made stock I'm going to add some scallions, mushrooms and spinach to and add these dumplings. I may throw in a few shrimp too.

Then I'm making my grilled crab salad sandwich. Old recipe, but new recipe for Zazz.

My kitties tonight will have fresh grilled tuna and kitty milk for their V-Day dinner!

Ninner, I'm glad that you are up and posting. I hope that your ribs are feeling better.

Tonight is pulled pork sandwiches with cole slaw. Dessert will be either the chocolate Tom gave me this morning or the strawberries and chocolate we had last night and for breakfast.

I'm not sure yet - I do have a couple of small steaks in the freezer, since it's Valentine's Day, maybe I'll make those and some taters, wine, etc.

Changed my mind. I have a bunch of fresh spinach to use up so I better make a big salad with that. Sooooo it will be penne with vodka cream sauce and a huge spinach salad. Perhaps I will even make french bread. Not that we need it but whatev.

I have no earthly idea. Nothing is defrosted, I had no plan, and grocery day is tomorrow. Probably end up being leftovers, since I've got crab au gratin, peanut-crusted fish, and dressed peas in the fridge.
