HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Stay Safe For Those In The Path Of Winter Storm Jupiter ...

Today's Cooking ...
Lady #1: Mixed sausages (kielbasa, brat, weisswurst); baked w/green cabbage, potatoes, apples, onions, in beer; roasted balsamic carrots

Me: Kielbasa baked w/kraut, potatoes, carrots, apples in beer; green salad w/mustard vinaigrette

Also, need to make a small batch of mushroom broth in the crock. Have a bunch of various stems, some leeks stems; and, picked up some dried mixed mushrooms too. Should come out pretty good.

Can someone help me please? I have dry manicotti shells with an expiry date of Oct. 14, 2016 would they still be okay to use or should I toss them, Thanks!

Heck, use them. As long as there are no bugs in the box; sometimes that can happen; I would certainly use them. Fresh pasta is different; but, dry I would think is perfectly fine.
I know I have some pasta probably a year old in my pantry.

I could be wrong; but, I would use them.

"If dried pasta is stored in a cool, dry place either in its original packaging or in an airtight container, it should be good for a few years. The expiration date on a box of pasta is usually about one to two years, and although expiration dates tend to be conservative, it's best to follow them.Mar 6, 2016"

Under, chicken and spuds sounds good. Chicken has been on the menu a lot lately. Always a good go to dinner.

HAPPY TUESDAY EVERYONE!

Hopefully, Most Of You Are Recovering From Winter Storm Jupiter; But Look Out Those Of You On The East Coast ... Stay Safe

Today's Cooking...
Lady #2 and #3: Same dish as I made for Lady #1 yesterday. Mixed sausages (kielbasa, brat, weisswurst); baked w/cabbage, potatoes, apples, onions, in beer; roasted balsamic carrots.

Me: Pasta w/creamy red pepper sauce; sauteed swiss chard w/garlic.
I have a bunch of tomatoes to harvest; and, tons of mixed peppers I harvested in my freezer. I think I will roast both with garlic and herbs; then, make a simple pan sauce adding some white wine, and finish with a splash of cream. No real recipe. A meatless night.
