What WAS on Your Plate & WHAT'S for Dinner 10/21-10/22
IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY! IS EVERYONE READY FOR THE WEEKEND?
I know some of you up north have some cooler weather; it is still mid 80's here - HOT and DRY! I would love to see a little bit of Fall
A bit of a busy cooking day for me. Two of the ladies I cook for have their Friday game/card night +8 guests; so, a bit of cooking.
Card/Game Night: Mexican seafood - Chips with http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/spicy-queso-dip-10036 and http://www.recipezazz.com/…/creamy-sals ... p-or-sauce… http://www.bumblebee.com/recipes/shrimp ... b-ceviche/; w/fresh shrimp and crab, served in endive leaves; http://www.recipezazz.com/r…/sarasotas- ... acos-16661 http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/spiced ... beans-1360 classic yellow rice; http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/…/mexi ... late-bake-…/
I actually made the cookies and dips last night; and, this am made the beans and rice. Just the tacos and ceviche are left.
Me: Noshing ... I have gorgeous fresh jumbo shrimp I'm just going to boil in beer; cheese/crackers/smoked salmon; fruit; and, wine of course.
HAPPY COOKING EVERYONE!

Thx Ellie, they do this most Friday's; and, it can be from 4-12+. But, we try to do themes which is fun.
Brandie, thank you. And, no salad is boring ... just clean or simple! Apple keugel sounds delicious
Sassy; I personally love a meatball stew; nothing wrong with that.
Lovin, love the idea of pickled beets on the cottage cheese. Since I am a fan of both; I bet that would be delicious.
Shapes, I just had dogs myself the other night. I love a good dog now and then.
Betty, it is apple season. Dessert looks really good.
I think applesauce is on my plan this weekend. I like to make a big batch; and, freeze it in small mason jars.
I usually cook with little sugar, skin on; but, no cinnamon. Then, once I thaw; I can doctor it up to what I am using it for. I can add cinnamon, more sugar, dried fruit, cranberries, etc. Even add a little bourbon too. It lasts a good 6 months in the freezer.

WHOO HOO ... IT'S THE WEEKEND! HAPPY SATURDAY EVERYONE!
Well, FL Fall has arrived, only 78 today, and in the 50's tonight - that's Fall in sunny Florida.
Tonight's Cooking ...
My friends Meatball Party. Even though there are about 50 people; each of us 20 cooks are only taking 2 small batches of meatballs each, along with any sauce and a side that would go with it. And, he and I worked together; and, picked 20 different kinds.
From lamb, chicken, turkey, beef, vegetarian, grains; Greek, BBQ, Spanish, Mexican, Italian, Indian, etc.
The host is providing some dips/appies/dipper to start, salads, and garlic bread.
I'm taking http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/delici ... alls-12462 w/a tzatziki sauce and spicy harissa sauce, couscous as a side; http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/chicke ... alls-21461 served in a small plastic cup w/marinara on the bottom, 1 Italian bread stick; and 1 skewer of 2 meatballs.
Should be fun!
