What WAS on Your Plate & WHAT'S for Dinner 9/22-9/23
HAPPY THURSDAY EVERYONE!
So, What are all of you up to?
Ladies #1 and #3+5 Card/Game Night: Chilled spicy beer boiled shrimp (beer, onions, old bay seasoning, spicy peppers) w/citrus herb aioli; blue crab dip w/mixed crackers; 3 quiches (ham/cheese; vegetable; bacon/swiss); mixed baby greens topped w/marinated roasted artichoke hearts and mustard vinaigrette - Dessert brought by a guest.
Everything is done; and, just dropped it off. They just have to slice/heat up the quiche and toss the salad with vinaigrette.
Me: Minute pork chops pan sauteed w/herb butter, roasted beets w/balsamic dressing; and, leftover artichoke casserole. Easy dinner. Fresh fruit again.

I'm catering a very "FU FU FANCY" party tomorrow night; so, tonight and tomorrow will be lots of prep; but, I still need to eat tonight. I'm anticipating very easy tomorrow night if anything ... maybe subway, lol.

Tonight it was cheese ravioli with a lemon-thyme-mushroom alfredo sauce.

T.G.I.F. EVERYONE!
Busy busy day! A very fancy party later today for a friends fiance b'day. Very formal. So, has been prepping late last night and this am.
12 people, white linen, individual place settings w/antique plates, glass and flatware. Small creamers filled with miniature pastel colored roses.
TO START ...
A champagne toast, 2-3 different martinis - my friend is making the martinis for the first hour.
A bowl of marinated mixed olives and small spicy cherry peppers, a bowl of savory roasted chick peas; a bowl of sweet and spicy mixed nuts to start.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Starter Appetizer ... 3 appies on one plate - 1 raw oyster sitting on a bed of coarse salt w/cucumber mignonette sauce - Shrimp escabeche, wrapped up and tied with a chive in lettuce pouch - Seared jumbo dry sea scallop with a caviar vinaigrette; and topped with more caviar over a bed of baby red and green cabbage shoots
On the side for each 2 people; a small silver dish filled w/a few saltines for the oysters, warm small grilled tortillas rolled up for the shrimp; and thin crostini for the scallop
----------------------------------------------------------------
2 Whole beef tenderloins coated w/herb and dried mushroom truffle rub, oven roasted, cut into 12 pieces (1 1/2")
Topped with a thin sauteed slice of foie gras - oven roasted wild mushrooms - a veal demi glaze - finished w/fried shallot strings
Served over a creamy puree of parsnips, cauliflower, potato and goat cheese.
On the side ... 3 balsamic/garlic roasted campari tomatoes, just until blistered over micro greens
2 wines
----------------------------------------------------------------
Individual small dishes with a thin layer of my flourless chocolate cake on the bottom; with a melted chocolate center. Topped w/chocolate mousse; Then, topped with a very rich whipped cream, chocolate shavings, caramel and sugared fresh berries.
Dessert wine; followed with Kona coffee; and, any dessert drinks if needed
3 homemade truffles wrapped in a satin pouch for each person to take home.
-----------------------------------
My Dinner ... I made http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/my-hom ... ulash-1314 last night and packed it up. That way, just reheat when I get home. And taking a fruit salad to the home where the party is; so, I can snack on that in between courses.
